A federal judge Tuesday sentenced disgraced former NBA referee Tim Donaghy to more than a year in prison for wagering on professional basketball games — conduct that Donaghy claims stemmed from his gambling addiction. Former NBA referee Tim Donaghy arrives at the courthouse for his sentencing hearing Tuesday.Donaghy was sentenced to 15 months in prison and three years of supervised release — less than the maximum penalty of 33 months, or nearly three years, in prison. Asher Roth came out last night to Fuggin Awesome 4 and performed his first live show. On the real, checking this dude out for the first time was a breath of fresh air. I was thinking that all the hype on him was gonna go down the toilet once I saw him on stage, but I was proven wrong. He brought his band out a performed about a 45 minute set and shut the place down. Get this now, this kid performed his first live show ever, with a live band, he has no single out on the radio, and shut the place down. I havent seen this kinda organic growth of an artist since Young Jeezy. Word is Asher is already getting booked for $5,000 shows. His swagger is something I have never seen before, at least on stage rapping. He’s a kid from the ‘burbs rocking a polo shirt, cargo shorts, and bass weejuns (no socks). He is basically the poster boy for American Eagle or The Gap. So, for him to kill this show just amazed me. I had a chance to meet him before the show and he was amazingly humble. This kid is definitely someone to watch in the months to come. I expect him to domintate the TRL airwaves real soon.

It is reported that last night in the Atlanta’s infamous housing projects called Bowen Homes, Shawty LO of D4L Records was allegedly in a “shoot out” around 1 am EST. The artist was reported being seen exiting an all black Hummer with an entourage of two to three individuals and a camera man. Yes that’s correct…. (more…)
