If the Cincinnati Bengals’ offseason couldn’t get any more strange, Pro Bowl receiver Chad Johnson may have added a new chapter just before the regular season.
According to Miami radio station 790 The Ticket, which is in Johnson’s hometown, the receiver has legally changed his last name to “Ocho Cinco.” Johnson’s — sorry — Ocho Cinco’s reported name change has been rumored in NFL circles for weeks, and according to the station today, it’s official. UGA football coach Mark Richt gave his players the morning off from the Bulldogs’ scheduled practice. Instead, the coach took the team swimming at the school’s Ramsay Student Center. Richt broke the ice by taking the first dive off the 10-meter platform. This is the second-straight year Richt has displayed his diving skills to players at UGA’s indoor swimmming facility.

Chad Johnson recently appeared on PTI says he could beat Michael Phelps in the pool.
“The problem with Michael Phelps is there’s no competition where he is. Now if he came to where I’m from, which is the inner city, Liberty City (in Miami), I was the three-time Charles Hadley Pool champ.“

Just got word that the Hawks are matching the Grizz offer sheet to Josh Smith. So that didn’t last long.
“Tonight, the Hawks organization received an offer sheet from the Memphis Grizzlies for Josh Smith,” said a statement from Hawks GM Rick Sund. “We are happy to announce that we will match their offer sheet. Ownership, management and the team are happy to have Josh return as a member of the Hawks. We look forward to training camp in October and we will continue to look at additional opportunities to improve our roster.” The offer was for 6 yrs $58 million dollars
